Canada's news media has suffered from slow rot for decades.
As a result of cross-ownership, corporate censorship
and marginalized diversity, our entire country has
been dumbed down first by Conrad Black, and now, Leonard
Asper. The result? Vancouver is the most media monopolized
city in North America. We're launching a movement to
engage the public in a drive for change. We'll start
our campaign this November with a full-page ad in the
Globe and Mail. But, more than money, we need your
ideas. Shall we create a declaration of journalistic
principles? Shall we go after Asper with an anti-CanWest
ad? Or shall we send a pointed message to the Senate,
demanding the committee on Canada's news media be reconvened?
