I think the CBC is a threat to the Asper Media Empire because it has credibility and a truly national audience, however small it may now be, which is exactly what Leonard Asper aspires to. Canadians in every corner of this country grew up listening to and watching the CBC and the CBC grew along with the country and its changing demographics. CanWest, with its American-style spinning of facts into political ideology, looks, sounds and reads exactly like what it is: propaganda designed to keep the rich and powerful in the driver's seat. The majority of Canadians do not have the same "Asperations" and know that the CBC, for all its faults, is still the trusted voice of the majority of ordinary Canadians, the ones who want to know all the facts and make up their own minds.
