My experiences with CanWest have involved specifically The Ottawa Citizen. I have alerted them to fraudulent headlines they have repeatedly printed and they refuse to correct these headlines. They absolutely want the public to believe lies. I sent a few letters to them and the final one resulted in an uncomfortable debate with the chief editor, Kurt Johnson. My final letter to the Ottawa Citizen, although it is heated please keep in mind that this is after many vain attempts to uncover their lies, is as follows:
You should be sued for inciting hatred against not only the truth, but against mulsims and arabs everywhere. If the atrocious thing you print about arabs were printed about jews (keep in mind the owners of canwest are hardcore zionists), there would be hell to pay. How dare you even begin to call Iraqis who kill soldiers that are slaughtering them (including children) at such an alarming rate 'savages'. An Iraqi who kills his occupier is a terrorist (on his own soil). If Iraqis were told their mission is to 'liberate' the U.S, and Americans (who are starving) knew they were about to be slaughtered by Iraqis with superior weaponry (without it being published), in the name of oil, the American, who must fight with whatever he has, bricks not excluded, would be seen as a patriot. Maybe even a hero. The Iraqis have a right to do whatever they can to resist their occupiers, and that does NOT make them savages or terrorists, it makes them human. Moreover, I don't even believe that half of the suicide bombings you cover in your news actually happen. I have previously proven some of your so called 'facts' wrong, and you refuse to publicly correct them. Proof that you are in the business of replacing the publics' common sense with nefarious propaganda. You previously printed that Sheikh Hassan Nesrallah urged Palestinians outside of Palestine to commit suicide bombings, and this was since proven by Neil MacDonald to be contrived by a British freelance journalist named Paul Martin. You intentionally failed to correct this so the public would believe that the Sheikh said the latter when he did NOT. You are so full of BS that it is seeping out your printing press on a daily basis, with your 2% truths. I would love to correct all of your lies but I would need plenty of staff and funding to surpass yours. Shame on your for villifying arabs and muslims everywhere, when it is the United States government and the Sharon government that are responsible for lying to their soldiers in order to kill innocent people for elitist greed. Even Israeli soldiers are refusing to serve, and choosing jail time over killing Palestinians. This should be an alarm bell. The Americans on ther other hand serve because they don't really know why they are killing Iraqis. There are some who are enlightened, even families of some of the deceased American soldiers have been protesting because their sons and daughters have indeed died in vain, thanks to the Bush government, and of course this doesn't reach your final print. I know you again will not publish this, as it is the truth. Shame on you.

The editor of the Ottawa Citizen called me regarding this letter, and I informed him of the previous several letters I have sent regarding the lies. When I said "So it is ok for you to continually villify the oppressed and make the oppressors heroes no matter what, even when innocent Iraqis are dying at an alarming rate?" Kurt's response was "That is absolutely right and you must resubmit your letter". Then he hung up the phone. Resubmitting was simply a run around, a refusal to publicly correct themselves because I have sent them many letters in the past and have simply been ignored. This time they were a little angry so they called my but in the end there is still censorship. I am just fed up with being lied to, and I'm really glad to know that there are people like you out there fighting on behalf of true democracy and justice. Thank you for being honest needles in haystacks of propaganda.
